Children’s Inn at NIH
The Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation is proud support the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health (NIH). Since its opening in 1990, the Children’s Inn has hosted patients and families from all over the U.S. and from 57 other nations. During the past 14 years, over 6,000 seriously ill children and their families have spent over 40,000 nights at the Children’s Inn.
The Children’s Inn offers sick children a place to find comfort and to prepare for their treatments. At the end of each day at NIH, the children can leave behind challenges that they must face, and return to the Inn and their families.
The Children’s Inn stands out as an example of how private contributions and spirited volunteers have answered a specialized need in society. The Inn will use the Foundation’s grant, in part to enlarge their facility, which will soon be able to house 54 families at the same time.
